New book pays tribute to the dog heroes of September 11 and the group who trained many of them.

National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, which finds, trains and places SAR dogs with firefighter/handlers at no cost to the fire department or other disaster agency. NDSDF deployed 13 teams to Ground Zero after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Their stories are found in the new book, Dog Heroes of September 11th: A Tribute to Americas Search and Rescue Dogs, by Nona Kilgore Bauer. A portion of the books proceeds will benefit NDSDF.
