  • Block off plenty of time for you.
  • Explain everything (what to expect from your pet at this stage of development; what he finds that concerns him; what the next steps should be).
  • Answer all your questions.
  • Treat you and your pet with compassion (make you and your pet comfortable).
  • Make sure your pet is relaxed. If your pet calms down when the vet touches him, the pet is relaxed.

You should:
  • Tell your vet everything upfront. (how the pet has been behaving, eating, drinking, urinating and defecating).
  • Remind the vet of problems your pet has had in the past.
  • Ask questions.
